Turner Morris’s Safety Practices

Leak Repair Colorado Mountains

Standards

Turner Morris follows the OSHA 1926 (Construction) Standards.

To uphold these standards, the TM Safety Officer and Supervisors do daily inspections ensuring all employees adhere to our safety protocol. We utilize weekly Toolbox Talks (OSHA-designed safety talks) the foreperson reviews with their crews to cover safety material relevant to their job sites. Monthly meetings with our forepersons review hazards or infractions discovered on job sites during the previous month. Everything is documented electronically for quick reference.

Unique

Turner Morris cares about ALL their employees, especially regarding safety. We aim for every employee to return safely to their home and family each night.

At TM Safety, we prioritize our employees' well-being, ensuring a safe workplace. Our commitment to OSHA standards guarantees quality roofs for our valued customers. Additionally, we prioritize public safety, both overhead and on the ground, to protect pedestrians and their vehicles in the surrounding community.

Compliance

TM uses a training matrix to maintain our safety training program up to and beyond OSHA's standards. The matrix tracks each employee's completed training sections, frequency, and topics.

Training

The Safety Officer has extensive knowledge of Construction/Safety/OSHA standards and takes that knowledge to the job sites on weekly safety inspections. Those inspections then get turned into weekly employee training.

The safety officer gathers the training topics from safety infractions discovered during the weekly inspections. The safety officer also takes topic suggestions from supervisors in the field. The TM crews have weekly training exercises and talks with the topics gathered by the safety officer. This training is in addition to the weekly Toolbox Talks.

The constant repetition of reviewing safety standards and safety practices with employees creates and develops the habits for our crews, and TEAMWORK is what makes our safety culture. It is everyone's responsibility to be safe.

Safety Officer

The Safety Officer is responsible for the entire safety program for TM, with upper management's support to help ensure our employees' safety. By gaining the trust of the crews and supervisors to report unsafe conditions or practices through safety observation reports and clear communication.

Incentives

At TM, we understand it's crucial to incentivize and reward stellar safety practices.

We train each foreperson to complete safety inspections for their sites/jobs and conduct safety observations for their jobs/sites. Crews with excellent safety records receive rewards, from safety lunches to bonuses.

TM creates a safety-conscious community on every job site in multiple ways. We start each project with a job walk where the Safety Officer learns the scope of work to develop a JHA or Safety Plan for the job/project. That Safety Plan is given to the foreperson to review with their crews at the start of the job/project. After the initial safety discussion, crews check the safety plan daily and weekly. The Safety Officer or supervisors then perform safety inspections. This process sets the foreman/crew up for safety success.
